Also known as the yellow house, Vila Josephine is the house where Vergílio Ferreira's aunts lived and where the writer used to stay every time he returned to his birthplace. Josephine is an Americanized derivation of Josefa, his mother's name. This house is often referred to in Vergílio's literature and works. It is located next to a large square where there are two sculptures dedicated to the writer.
