Sabugueiro I e II Centrals

The Sabugueiro I and II Central power stations are located on the left bank of the Alva River, downstream from the Mountain Village of Sabugueiro and close to the “Poço Negro (well)”. They are supplied by a vast set of dams, tunnels, canals and pipelines, of which the Lagoa Comprida and Covão do Meio dams, and the Vale do Rossim and Lagoacho dams stand out for their storage volumes.

The flows turbined at these two power stations are returned to an adduction channel which diverts the water to the Senhora do Desterro II power station, located in Senhora do Desterro, further downstream.
