Covão do Ferro

Is located in the upper valley of the Alforfa stream, it is one of the most distinctive forms of glacial erosion in Serra da Estrela. The cave is limited upstream by the eastern edge of the Torre plateau, presenting a typical amphitheater shape, with a length and width of more than 1 km, and abrupt slopes, with heights of around 300 m.

Downstream there is a succession of two depressed areas arranged in a landing, also overgrown by the erosive action of the ice flow, called Covão da Mulher and Covão da Nave.
