Mondeguinho

It identifies the source of the Mondego River at an altitude of 1425 meters. This is the longest Portuguese river, with a length of 257 km from its source to its mouth in the Atlantic Ocean, near the city of Figueira da Foz. Next to the spring you can read a panel with the words of the Portuguese famous writer, Luís Vaz de Camões "Spring of the Mondego river, Thin clears waters of the Mondego, Sweet resting place of my memory/ “Nascente do Rio Mondego, Delgadas claras águas do Mondego, Doce repouso da minha lembrança (Portuguese translation)”.
