Saint Mary Major Main Church (Igreja Santa Maria Maior) has a Baroque Romanesque construction. It consists of a longitudinal plan containing a nave, a lower and narrow chancel, a sacristy on the right side and a clock tower and a bell tower on the back façade. This church has a main altar and two side altars carved in wood and gilt carved from the 16th century. The side altars correspond to Our Lady of Rosary, on the right, and the Altar of Souls on the left. There are also two other simple side altars which are the Sacred Heart of Jesus, on the right, and Our Lady of Fátima, on the left. In the altarpiece of the main altar are the Castros weapons. Behind the main altar on the left, we can see some traces of a primitive painting that represents Mary's Annunciation to the Angel. Inside, there are the gilded altarpieces and the baptismal font located in the sub-chorus.
