Built in 1756, it is better known as the Beiras Cathedral, a name given by the archbishop Manuel Viera de Matos for its magnificence. It is a baroque style church, with a remarkable dimension and of great value for the works of painting; there are 102 gilded panels on the ceiling made by important names such as José da Fonseca Ribeiro, the great sculptor of the Beiras region.
