Castro de Santiago

From this place we can enjoy its surrounding landscape, which goes from the valleys of the Vila Chã and Muxagata riverside to the foot of Serra da Estrela, in the Gouveia area. At the highest point of the hill, there is a granitic Tor, where at times the spaces between the great boulders would have been strategically filled by sections of wall, in order to form small enclosures to defend themselves.

It has as reference a geodetic vertex located at the north top of an interfluve that rises between two tectonic accidents partially used by the riverbeds of Vila Chã (to the West) and Muxagata (to the East).

It is a geossite of the Estrela Geopark.
