TOUR
2 days of walks led by a Green Trekker guide. The first day of the route (22 June) starts in the town of Loriga (770 metres above sea level) and takes you up the famous Garganta de Loriga to the Torre - the highest point in mainland Portugal at 1993 metres above sea level. This trail, one of the most impressive in the mountains, is used by shepherds to lead their flocks of sheep and goats, and crosses the imposing glacial valley formed by lagoons and pits.
On the second day, the route goes to the mountain village of Cabeça, where you'll pass through agricultural terraces, the way that local people have found to be able to do some farming in this part of the Serra da Estrela.
