Land - Wool Innovation Week - Manteigas | May 24th to June 01th, 2025

Lãnd is the land of wool, the place of shepherds, sheep and landscapes where nature and human presence live in harmony, the unique territory where Manteigas is located, in the heart of the mountain. But it is also the land of innovation and creativity from this local resource with unique characteristics in the world, the wool of sheep from the Bordaleira and Churra Mondegueira breeds from Serra da Estrela.

Mission

Lãnd is an initiative guided by creativity, by the collaborative spirit and by the principle of generating innovation based on the ancestral knowledge of the communities of Serra da Estrela.

This is a project that will boost the dynamics of innovation and creativity already present in the territory of Serra da Estrela, by the hand of local companies with international projection, which recovered factories and traditional knowledge to create new products through design. Lãnd - Wool Innovation Week builds the future, designing and reinventing wool as a valuable sustainable endogenous resource, produced according to the principles of the circular economy.

We are preparing a program in which wool will be at the center of various initiatives focused on innovation, design and knowledge sharing. Until May 2025, we will have creative residencies, design competitions, talks, workshops and exhibitions.
